This course serves to create the right preparation for approaching free nocturnal birds of prey in the wild (with the right ethical approach) and how to identify them. How to look for them with calls (playback method) or with binoculars (when possible) and how to identify their traces (feathers, wads, plucked, predation remains) and suitable habitats.

With night exit to contact nocturnal birds of prey in an area adjacent to the course venue

Plan

10.00 Registration for the course

10.15 Screening: Nocturnal birds of prey, how to identify them

11.30 On the trail of owls how to identify feathers, wads, plucked

1.00 pm Lunch break The park, where the course is held, has a space for refreshments Kiosk park where we will take a lunch break.

2.15 pm Singing as an identification tool and the playback method to look for Owls

4.45 pm Brief outing in the park to highlight some day and night research techniques.

18.00 Conference open to the public The secret life of nocturnal birds of prey in the Veneto region by Marco Mastrorilli writer and ornithologist with presentation of the book Guide to nocturnal birds of prey in Europe

19.00 Aperigufo and pizzeria gufosa

At 20.30 the course participants will be able to take part in a demonstration night outing to look for owls and owls.

Participation fee € 40.00

Participants will receive educational material.

Does not include lunch, aperitif and dinner.

IMPORTANT: the event will be carried out in absolute safety in full compliance with all the regulations in force for the respect of health and prevention of the spread of Covid-19, therefore the spaces will be used respecting for the protection of everyone with adequate distancing. The use of the mask is mandatory.
